Memoir Out Now

In a prison classroom, incarcerated men find purpose through writing their lives. This memoir rejects the teacher-as-savior story and shows the men not as monsters or victims, but as complex individuals. Through risk, trust, and humor, both teacher and students learn that dignity grows from being heard and from building on what writers do well.
